October 2010 - Gum Paste & Fondant Final Cakes

This student had an "allergy" challenge so she had to be creative and use alternate ingredients free of corn, wheat, milk and eggs. She made her own fondant and gumpaste following the Wilton recipes but used alternate ingredients for some. We had a bit of consistency challenge in the beginning but she had to constantly try out a few tricks here and there to come up with something better. If you look at this cake, can you tell the difference? This only shows that if you are inspired, you can do anything including making a beautiful cake. I am very proud to be a part of this experiment. She goes to the website http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org/ for information on possible substitutions.

CANDY MAKING CLASSES IN NOVEMBER

Hello everyone.

Candy making class is 1-day, 2-hour session. Cost is $15 and schedules are as follows:

Tukwila - Nov. 6 (Saturday) 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Federal Way - Nov. 20 (Saturday) 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Unfortunately, bounce coupons cannot be used for this class.
